Music industry consultancy covering digital music marketing and strategy
We haven’t written about Tully before, but it’s an example of two music/tech startup trends: it combines distribution with other tools and services for artists; and it was founded by a musician – in this case, American artist Joyner Lucas.
Tully’s core product is an app, which artists can use to record, collaborate on and master music; store their files in the cloud; distribute the finished tracks to a range of digital services; and then use other tools to manage their business. It’s in the news today because it’s taken a strategic investment from Sony Music. “Now with Sony Music’s involvement, we are ready to share more of our technology with other artists,” Lucas told Billboard. “We started with songwriting, then storage, security and now management.” According to the report, an ‘artist management platform’ will be added to Tully in the third quarter of this year.
